Cucumbers grow pretty well in Norway in the summer and have been grown here since the 1600s. Yes, I kid you not! These days they are grown by so many people in Norway and if we start the plants under cover and keep them in the warmth we can expect plenty of fabulous fruit on them by July. I will confess though that I never have any luck with cucumber plants (unlike my sister-in-law who manages to grow more than she can ever eat!). The best I can hope for is that a rogue cucumber will come up in my homemade compost!
