There are few countries in the world that love hotdogs (or pølse as they are called here) quite as much as the Norwegians. They are surprisingly quiet about their love of them though. When I first came to Norway I was astonished to see pølse (hotdogs) so widely available and eaten with such gusto as here. I don't think I had even seen so many hotdogs everywhere and the only country I felt was as passionate about them was the USA. It does make me wonder - did the hotdog arrive in the USA from Norway or the other way round?
